As the Aquarium du Québec was closed at short notice, we had to cancel almost all our hotels and re-select and re-book for a better period. This left us with no time to select good and reasonably recognisable photos of the Toronto Zoo.

The Toronto Zoo has an exemplary and record-breaking display of information on animal species, special features and the threats they face from humans.

There are 3 female bears and one male bear living at Toronto Zoo. They include mum Aurora with her daughter Juno and her son Hudson. Orphan Nikita also lives at the zoo.

As no polar bear cubs are wanted in Canada at the moment, Hudson was given ‘medical’ care and can now stay together with his mum and sister ‘forever’. This results in a 4 bear community in 3 huge enclosures, whereby bear Juno would rather stay alone and only finds Hudson ‘super’.

The orangutan enclosure is very unusual – unfortunately this is only a makeshift blog and I can’t report on and document with photos how the monkeys balance across the zoo on thin ropes.
