It’s been awfully hot almost everywhere in the world during the last couple of weeks. Even in Novosibirsk the weather has been not very polarBEARable!
Good morning, mama! It’s very hot today. I think I will stay in the shadow under your belly.
Dear boy, it will be even warmer under my belly. It’s a good place in the Winter but now it’s really not so suitable.
Why don’t we go and have a nice refreshing bath in our pool?

After a swimming tour with mama Umka wanted to challenge the big ‘ice float’.
Some stretching is needed between all activities!
Then it’s time to enjoy the delights of the arctic corner.
Umka even managed to move a block of snow to the stairs.
Belka and Strelka spent a lot of time in the water, too. They were treated with fish in the pool.
Of course, a fish tastes yammy even on land ….

I can well imagine that the hot summer is a challenge for the polar bears. It’s great that they can cool off in the cold water anytime and get a pile of snow every now and then. The pictures of Umka and his mother are so cute! His sisters, Belka and Strelka, are doing well, too, which makes me very happy.
