Mykolaiv Zoo is the only zoo in Ukraine that keeps polar bears. Traditionally, we keep educational events dedicated to these animals every year. On the International Polar Bear Day (27th of February) we held an environmental and educational event with feeding polar bears, during which our guests had the opportunity not only to observe the interesting behavior of the animal, but also to learn many facts about the culprits of the holiday, take part in a quiz and find out what everyone can do to reduce the rate of global warming and to preserve these wonderful animals.

It’s heart warming to see how this zoo is taking care of the animals and this day especially their polar bears despite the war.
There was still snow although the pool was free from ice.
Zefirka is a beautiful lady bear.
