Polar Bear Habitat in Cochrane 10th of October 2024

Everything in Cochrane 🐻‍❄️ 🇦 is designed for polar bears and the polar bear figures are made of real marble.

There are two polar bears in the Polar Bear Habitat – Ganuk and Henry.

Henry

Ganuk was born on the 30th of November 2009 in St. Felicien. His mother was Aisaqvak and his father was Inukshuk.

Ganuk has lived even in Quebec before coming to Cochrane.

30.11.2009 – 16.11.2011 St. Felicien
16.11.2011 – 18. Juni 2012 Quebec
18. Juni 2012 – Cochrane

Henry was born on the 9th of May 2013 in the Gold Coast in Australia. His mother is Liya and his father is Nelson.

Henry left the Gold Coast on the 7th of October 2015 and came to Cochrane.

Today was another highlight of my trip to Canada.

I was allowed to take part in Polar Bear Ganuk’s training programme. Of course, this is not free and costs several hundred dollars. However, the human-bear contact is the highlight of how you can experience a polar bear and therefore worth every cent.
