Jens has visited Finland and, naturally, a visit in the Ranua Wildlife Park was an important part of the travel plan.
On the roads in north Finland you can often see reindeers in the wild.
Oh bear, it’s snowing in October!!!
For the time being Venus is the only polar bear living in this park.
Do I see a visitor from Germany?
Yes, it looks like a fan of mine is here!
I must go closer and say ‘Willkommen’. I’ve learnt some German from my mother Vienna.
What’s that smell?
Has it been snowing?
She has access to two rather big enclosures.
The enclosures are not as big as those in for instance England but the big advantage is that there’s always a long Winter with lots of snow.
As you can see in the photos King Bore has already made his entry. It’s almost impossible to find the snow owl in the snow. 🙂
There are reindeers in the park, too.
The musk ox is wondering what the white stuff is. He seems to like it anyway …. 🙂
The wolves have a big area in this park. Nobody should be afraid of this lovely wolf … or ….?
The Zoo Restaurant
Jens was lucky to see even the northern lights …
…. and, of course, he also visited Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi.
