Everyone knows Nicky and Anouk from my blog … but now they’ve both got a new home near Paris. So I travelled there to see if both polar bears were doing well. They live in the Lumigny Safari Reserve. In short, both polar bears have been given one of the best polar bear enclosures in Europe.
On this day Anouk & Nicky were not together. But they only have a small electric fence as a boundary, so there are probably no REAL problems.
The enclosure for the two polar bears is huge – similar to the one in Doncaster.

Anouk ♀ (* 19.12.2022) 🇩🇪
Anouk was born on the 19th of December 2022 in the Tierpark Hagenbeck in Hamburg. Her mother is Victoria and her father was Kap who recently died.
Anouk has a half brother Mika born on the 2nd of November 2024 in the Karlsruhe Zoo. She came to France in July 2025.

Nicky ♀ (* 25.11.2015) 🇳🇱
Nicky was born on the 25th of November 2015 in the Dierenrijk Nuenen (now the Eindhoven Zoo). His parents are Frimas and Henk. Nicky moved to Zoo de Cerza in March 2028 and in July 2025 he came to Lumigny.
He has many brothers and sisters:
Brothers: Pixel, Nivi and half brother Otis
Sisters: Noordje, Elva and twin sister Simone
Nicky took a trip to the Napland.
My travelling companion Flocke has stuck to the bottle with superglue. 🙂
