There has been a real heat wave in Novosibirsk. The temperatures were about 36-37 degrees during several days! Now the temperatures are lower but it’s still very warm.
Oh bear, it’s too darned hot!
Naturally mama Gerda knew what to do to put up with the heat.
Come on, kids – the water is warm but it’s refreshing anyway.

Voila! Snow and ice!
As usual the keepers have made a little Arctic Corner in the shadow for their beloved polar bears. I hope many other zoos follow their example because another hot Summer is predicted!
The kids were excited and jumped happily in the snow.
Oh, what a big snow ball!
Gerda knows it’s no good to be too active when the heat is on.
She encouraged her twins to join her and take a rest.
