The big ‘iceberg’ feels already smaller … soon I can throw it into the air. Well, quite soon anyway ….
I can eat almost as much as you! Next year you’ll be a little girl compared to me, hahahaa!
I’m a master diver – I can almost fly! Aren’t you impressed?
I know the snow and ice are my proper elements …
… and I know how to enjoy the delights of the white stuff.
As you can see I’m a professional polar bear baby now!
Well, even a pro like Umka needs some rest ….
…. and the best place for a nap is close to mama.

As is so often the case, when I see such heart-warming pictures, I find myself thinking that polar bear cubs have the best time of their lives whilst they’re with their loving mother. Umka is so full of joy and zest for life, and Gerda is such a wonderful and caring mother, that there’s nothing more one could wish for.
