Jens has visited Japan and on the 9th of June it was time to visit 🐻❄️ Eisbär Yume 🐻❄️ Zoo Kōbe 🇯🇵.
Our first full day in Japan was a complete success. We discovered a polar bear at the zoo that is not listed in the studbook as either a birth or a transfer. In the world of science, this is like discovering a new element, being the first to climb a mountain or the first to land on Mars.

The polar bear’s home at Kōbe Zoo.
Yume was born in 2021 in Asahiyama. Mother Pirika 15 December 2005, father Ivan 20 November 2000 – nephew of Vera & Milana, Wolodja & Nord.

Asiatic black bear
There are seven koalas living at Kobe Zoo.
The highlight of the day at the zoo – you can walk among the squirrels for 40 minutes.
Tibetan blue bear: a Tibetan blue bear. Her name is Mar and she is 35 years old.
Ussuri brown bear: a Hokkaido brown bear. Her name is Satoe and she is 33 years old.
And so a wonderful day in Kobe comes to an end.
