4.7.2026 – Photos by Pat Waldron
In the morning Hamish welcomed the visitors with a nice pose. He certainly knows how to look gorgeous.
I can’t sit here and pose the whole day so I’ll check if Nobby is around somewhere …
I can smell him ….
Oh, here he is – of course, just chilling.
Well, I’m going to check our garden – or rather a jungle …. It’s looking good and very green indeed.
Hamish went swimming and Nobby came to meet him.
Suddenly even Nobby was very interested in the green stuff.
Oh bear, it really is a jungle out here!
He found something not so green …
Hamish, look what a nice twig I found!
…. but he decided to take it to the den. It will be a nice decoration.
Hamish retired to his bedroom.
He was thinking big thoughts with a twiggy (not the photo model, mind you) between his teeth. 🙂
Of course, I’m thinking big thoughts! A giant polar bear like me just can’t have small thoughts … what a stupid thing to believe!

Dear Pat!
Thank you for the new pictures of Hamish and Nobby. They Look very happy.
Hugs

Dear Pat!
It’s wonderful that the polar bears at the YWP at least have plenty of greenery around them, since there’s no ice… They’re doing well and the worst of the spring’s hormonal upheavals seem to be over. Soon they’ll all be friends again.
Thank you for your lovely photos!
Hugs

Pat, your photos are absolutely brilliant once again and show an active and friendly pair of bears. One would wish this sort of jungle for many bears at the zoo, where they can also retreat from time to time. As collectors, they always seem to find something to decorate their den with.
Best wishes and many thanks!
