5.10.2026 – Photos by Doris and Jessie Webb
This time I want to present some photos of Knut and his toys in Doris and Jessie Webb’s photos that haven’t been published in this Magazine before.
We’ve seen lots of photos of Knut with his jutesack but he loved all kinds of cloths.
The Aussie Dog was one of his absolute favourites.
The bubble looked very interesting.
I’m not sure what this enrichment is but it sure matches Knut’s dark fur – the colour of that day.
The ball games with the visitors were always fantastic to see. First a swimming tour with the ball …
… and then it was time to throw it to a lucky visitor!

Of course, the fans were there. I’m sure Knut knew how much loved he was by the keepers and the visitors.

Food is also kind of enrichement and Knut was a very skilful catcher!
Toys didn’t have to be so special – Knut could entertain himself with anything.
It was wonderful tot see Knut play but it was wonderful to see him sleep, too. I’m sure many readers of Knuti’s Magazine remember how we sat och stood outside his enclosure just watching him in silence. What fantastic moments they were!

I had no camera during the Knut years and only took one photo of him I took on a very small phone taken in the evening as the sun was going down.
Knut was a very clever bear and knew all his visitors. Thank you for giving us the chance each month to be at his enclosure with old friends

Dank der Fototanten und -onkel haben wir ein fast
unerschöpfliches Reservoir an Bildern und Videos
aus Knuts leider viel zu kurzem Leben.
Das tröstet etwas…
Knut machte aus allem ein Spielzeug und war sehr kreativ in der Handhabung.
Ein schlafender Knut war auch sehr berührend und nur die ganz Doofen haben ihn geweckt.
Ein großer Dank an Doris und Jessie, die Knut mit vielen Tausenden Foto so lebensnah in Erinnerung erhalten haben!

You’ve chosen some truly enchanting photos to celebrate Knut’s monthly birthday. Knut could literally play with anything he found and got his paws on. Everyone who got to watch him was enchanted by him. He was one of a kind! Doris, Jessie, and many others captured wonderful moments of Knut at play in their photos. Doris and Jessie, who are sadly no longer with us, remain like Knut unforgettable to us.
