You’ve seen lots of photos of the polar bear girls in Rostock and now it’s time to let them present themselves here. The first ‘selfie article’ comes from Noria.
I was born on the 21st of November, 2015 at the Brno Zoo in the Czech Republic. Since September 2018 I live in Rostock with Lili and Sizzel.
My father Umka died in 2018 but my mama Cora still lives in Brno. She was born in St Petersburg so my grandparents from mother’s side were the famous Uslada and Menshikov.
I was named after a character in a book. Noria is the 17-year-old protagonist and tea master’s daughter in the Finnish author Emmi Itäranta’s dystopian novel Memory of Water.
They say I look like my mother. What do you think?
Martina loves me and calls me Norinka. I like my nickname.
As you can see I’ve done my pawicure properly!
When my friend Martina came to visit me, Lili and Sizzel in Rostock she brought nice toys for us.
I love my buyo!
It can serve as a teddy bear. 🙂
Yeah, it really is a jolly good friend!
Now I’m a bit tired so I thank you for watching and take a trip to the Napland.

Thank you for the pictures of Noria. She was very young as she came in the zoo Rostock, but she was not afraid of Akiak. Now she is a wonderful Lady bear.

Das ist eine schöne Idee, die Bärinnen einmal einzeln vorzustellen. Noria ist eine sehr hübsche Bärendame und straft m. M. n. die Behauptung Lügen, Bären hätten keine Mimik… Besonders auf den Fotos mit der roten Boje im Holzhäckselbett sieht man, wie zufrieden sie ist und wie sehr sie sich über das Spielzeug freut. Danke für diese herzerwärmenden Bilder!
