In the Novosibirsk Zoo Gerda and her twins are enjoying snow before it melts away. At the same time mama Gerda is teaching her twins things that are necessary to know for a polar bears.
Before the kids can start exploring their enclosure Gerda makes sure everything’s OK.
OK, children – you can start whatever you will do!
I hope they won’t be too energetic today!
However, Gerda knows how important it is to let her babies spend a lot of time close to her. Cuddling and caressing are on the schedule every day.
This place sure looks safe!
In the wild polar bear cubs meet many dangers but in the zoos they can feel relatively safe. There are at least no natural enemies. Unfortunately the worst enemies are stupid visitors thowing things to the enclosures. Let’s hope the visitors in this zoo will behave properly!
In the wild the mother polar bears have great difficulties finding enough food so they can provide their cubs with good nourishment. In the zoos there are no such problems.
The keepers make sure Gerda can eat properly. Of course, the kids want to share her meals but so far the solid food isn’t as popular as mama’s milk.
Gerda’s milk bar is always open for her hungry kids.
Life in a zoo has some great advantages!
These two cuties have everything they need for the time being.
We have the best mama in the world!
Mervi’s note: Dear kids, I can only agree!
Gerda is a little embarrassed by the nice and appreciating words.
Thank you for watching! We’ll be back soon – there are lots and lots of wonderful photos of us in store!
